Achieving liftoff in a crowded marketplace with Stargazer Edibles.
RaShaun Robinson came to Robot House with a vision to transition his small batch ice cream business into a cannabis edibles company specializing in THC-infused ice cream and chocolate. A key element of this new brand would be its connection to Oklahoma. We discovered the “highest” elevation in the state is located in Black Mesa State Park. Lack of light pollution has made Black Mesa a destination for stargazers from far and wide. Thus, Stargazer Edibles was born.
Unleashing the Robot House team’s not-very-inner nerd we embraced both aeronautic iconography as well as played with design and illustration inspired by mid-century NASA manuals. Phrases like “Prepare for liftoff” and “Become one with stars” were weaved into the brand story, positioning Stargazer as much more than just an edibles brand – it’s a lifestyle brand, as evidenced by the domain chosen for the website: Stargazer.Life.
We launched Stargazer Edibles with a website, social media posts, sales team materials, point of sale displays, wearables, and of course, product packaging, all featuring photography with professional food styling which we art directed in our studio—truly the most delicious photoshoot in Robot House history. Stargazer experienced immediate success, and soon added take-and-bake cookie dough to their product line. And we added more than a few creative packaging design awards to our shelves.
Stargazer Edibles is located in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Because it’s a cannabis product, it can only be sold within the state of Oklahoma. So it’s literally a “local” brand. But we designed it to look like a national brand. Because creativity has no borders. We believe that every great business deserves a great brand. And every great business, no matter their size, deserves to look like a big brand. Life’s too short to settle for “good enough.” So we appreciate clients like RaShaun who invite us to reach for the stars with them.
